Government banks organise Children’s Day activities

BANGKOK, January 10 (TNA) - Government banks have joined Children’s Day 2015 celebrations by organising fun-filled activities and offering scholarships to children. The Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) organised Children's Day activities on Saturday under a concept called the "Farm Kids", aimed at encouraging children and youths to learn self-sufficient agriculture, while also allowing them to join in organising shows and drawing prizes. The army band also entertained the participating children during the activities, set from 8:30am to noon. Questions and answers about the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) programme was also organised by BAAC, where youths were also provided free food and drinks. Realising that education is vital for children, BAAC also offered 1,221 scholarships, worth 176.57 million baht, to children of agriculturists and outsiders. Similar celebrations were also held at the Government Housing Bank (GHB) under a concept called the "GHB Fun Fair Festival", with prizes worth more than 100,000 baht handed to participating children.
