Government officials take oath of allegiance to Thai King

BANGKOK, December 3 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha has led his Cabinet members and senior government and state officials of all sectors, including civil servants, soldiers and police, to take an oath of allegiance to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King's 87th birthday on December 5, 2014. The ceremony, organised by the Office of the Civil Service Commission (OCSC), was held at Bangkok's Government House on Wednesday morning. At the ceremony, the prime minister first led the government and state officials to extend their best wishes to His Majesty the King on the auspicious occasion and later to take their oath of allegiance to the beloved and revered Thai monarch, vowing to be good officials with integrity and to follow His Majesty the King's footsteps to determine to help solve public and national problems, to do good deeds for their motherland and to adhere to their religions' principles and His Majesty the King's guidances. At the nearby Parliament building, Secretary to the House of Representatives and to the National Reform Council (NRC) Jarae Panprueng also led parliamentary officials to pay respect to His Majesty the King's portrait and to then take their oath of allegiance to the revered Thai monarch, vowing to be good officials and a power of the nation. At the headquarters of MCOT Public Company Limited (MCOT), a most established Thai media firm, new MCOT President Siwaporn Chomsuwan, meanwhile, led the company's executives and operational personnel to take their oath of allegiance to His Majesty the King, vowing to be good staffs, follow His Majesty's foodsteps and to be also a power of the nation.
