Government to open public complaint centre in Thai far South

YALA, THAILAND, June 7 (TNA) - Deputy Interior Minister Pracha Prasobdi is visiting the Thai far South on Friday to follow up progress on the government's solutions to the violence-plagued region, including a plan on setting up a public complaint centre where locals can provide tip-offs to state authorities. After arriving in Yala Province, Pracha looked into updates, including the planned setting up of the centre based on the good governance principle to, among others, promote public participation in filing complaints, providing tip-offs and voicing opinions regarding solutions to the violent unrest in the Thai deep South. The Thai government has, meanwhile, promised to heed and take actions subsequently with transparency and justice, while keeping the tip-offs confidential for public safety. (TNA)
