Government to organise "OTOP to AEC, Heritage from Local to Global" fair

BANGKOK, Oct 31 (TNA) -- The government will organise a grand fair which is designed to promote products manufactured under the One Tambon One Product (OTOP) scheme to oversea markets as the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) is scheduled to kick off at the end of 2015. The so-called "OTOP to AEC, Heritage from Local to Global" will be held November 3 – 25 along Bangkok’s Khlong Phadung Krung Kasem, said Apichart Todilokvej, director-general of Interior Ministry’s Community Development Department. Mr Apichart told a press conference that the fair will give an opportunity to agriculturists and minor business operators to see products from manufacturers directly to consumers. More than 330 products under the OTOP programme, including good tasted food, will be displayed at the fair, said Mr Apichart. Also, new innovative OTOP products will be available. Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha will preside over the opening of the fair on November 3. (TNA)
