Government to protect copyright of "13 Thai wild boars"

BANGKOK, July 23 (TNA) - The government will set up a panel to oversee issues, documentaries and films related to 12 young Thai football players, aged 11-16 years old, and their 25-year-old coach who were members of the "Thai wild boars' academy" and were safely rescued recently, after having been trapped in a deep and massively-inundated cave in the Thai North for more than two weeks to protect their copyright, as well as the official confidentiality and the national security. Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam, who oversees legal affairs, told journalists that he will soon propose to the Thai Cabinet on the setting up of the adhoc panel to take care of and protect the copyright of the 13 young Thai wild boars, as well as all other Thai officers involving in the successful 17-day rescue mission, including those from the Royal Thai Navy Sea, Air, Land (SEAL) Special Operations Force. The deputy prime minister explained that the copyright protection for the individual young Thai footballers and all other involving officers will cover their interviews, information, stories in all forms, like videos, documentaries and films, and legal contracts. "The Thai government, through the adhoc panel, as a non-stakeholder, will only help provide advice and protect the copyright of the individual 12 Thai boys and their soccer coach, as well as all other involving officers", said the deputy prime minister. According to the deputy premier, there are now five foreign companies that have contacted the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ask for the official permission for filming and disseminating documentaries in series about the successful international rescue mission of the 13 young Thai football players. The deputy prime minister made it clear that there will be no copyright for the publication of stories of the recent international rescue mission of the 13 young Thai wild boars in each country, but afterwards interviews, videos, documentaries and films conducted in Thailand will be under the supervision of the adhoc panel. The deputy prime minister, meanwhile, stated that he has instructed the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security and other relevant parties to take care of the privacy and psychological effects of the 13 young Thai footballers, as well as strictly screen interviews they made with media in the immediate wake of their safe rescue from the Tham Luang Cave in the compound of the Khun Nam Nang Non Forest Park in the northern Thai Chiang Rai Province to legally protect the Thai youths, who will be later allowed, after this sensitive period, to voluntarily give their interviews to both Thai and foreign media.
