Government's best wishes for Thai Crown Prince

BANGKOK, July 28 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha has led his Cabinet's members to write the best wishes for His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn on the occasion of the Crown Prince's 63rd birthday anniversary. After extending the best wishes to His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn at the Bureau of the Royal Household in Bangkok on Tuesday morning, the prime minister led his Cabinet's members to have a 10-minute cycling practice session at Government House to prepare for their participation in the "Bike For Mom" activity, initiated by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn as part of nationwide celebrations of this year's birthday anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit and set to be organized on August 16. On the occasion, the Thai premier encouraged the general public to keep themselves fit, join the dress rehearsal of the "Bike For Mom" cycling event on August 2 and participate in the real event on August 16. The prime minister also expressed his hope that the general public would increasingly use bicycles, pointing out that bicycles would boost relations with family members and other people in the society. His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn will, himself, lead people in the Bike For Mom event. Meanwhile, the Royal Thai Armed Forces and many other organizations organized activities to honor His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn on the occasion of his 63rd birthday, which falls on July 28. Thai Army Chief General Udomdej Sitabutr, who is also Deputy Defence Minister, presided over a ceremony to launch the army's nationwide activities in honor of the Crown Prince, including purchases of cattle from slaughterhouses, free medical services and blood donation. At the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters on the outskirts of Bangkok, Supreme Commander General Woraphong Sa-nganet presided over a Buddhist ceremony to make merits for His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, in which government officials, soldiers and spouses participated. The general public also carried out similar activities nationwide to make merits on the occasion of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince's birthday. (TNA)
