Govt Committed To Develop The Nation Despite Tribulations - M'sian PM Najib

KUALA LUMPUR, July 4 (Bernama) -- With the blessings of Ramadan and the spirit of 'Nuzul Al-Quran', the government continues to be committed in developing the country despite facing various challenges and allegations, said prime minister Najib Razak. He said the nation's target was to become a developed Muslim nation with high income, in line with the demands of the Al-Quran. "Certainly, as a progressive Muslim nation, Malaysia always strives to meet Quranic guidance by ensuring that the eminence, statutes and objectives of the syariah is made as the framework of reference in developing the country," he said in his message in conjunction with 'Nuzul Al-Quran' through his blog, NajibRazak.com Friday. Najib also prayed and hoped that in conjunction with the 'Nuzul Al-Quran' incident, the whole strength of Muslims in the country could be united under one agenda, that is the agenda of the ummah. "The spirit of cooperation and helping one another must be developed and strengthened among us. It is a crucial precondition for us to receive assistance and help from Allah the Almighty," he said. Najib also called on all Muslims to be grateful for the grace of Ramadan, a month that is full of blessings and forgiveness. "Despite the economic uncertainties and unpredictable weather faced by the world, we in Malaysia can still be together in fulfilling the demands of Ramadan in peace and harmony," he said. Najib said that on the 17th day of the Muslim month of Ramadan each year, Muslims will remember the important incident of 'Nuzul Al-Quran'. It was on this day that the holy book Al-Quran was delivered to mankind for their benefit, the prime minister said. -- BERNAMA
