Govt Officers Urged To Fight Circulation Of Adulterated Liquor

Bekasi, W Java, Dec 18 (Antara) -- All ranks and files of government offices across the country are urged to crack down on the circulation of adulterated liquor, an official said. "Adulterated hard drinks will only kill those who consume it," Zudan Arif Fakhrulloh, head of the Legal Bureau of the Ministry of Home Affairs, stated here on Thursday. Speaking at a seminar on the elimination of adulterated liquor, Fakhrulloh affirmed that his ministry had instructed all government offices to fight against the mixing of hard drinks. According to data he collected from four districts, 34 people died after drinking adulterated liquor in the last one week, he added. "Hundreds of others were admitted to hospitals for consuming hard drinks that were tampered with," Fakhrulloh pointed out. Bekasi district, he remarked, is prone to the circulation of such hard drinks, as seen by the death of several victims. "Adulterated alcoholic drinks are more dangerous than terrorism because its impact causes the death of people. The Bekasi regional government, therefore, needs to form an anti-adulterated liquor team," he observed.
