Greek diplomat run over by train

KANCHANABURI, THAILAND, November 26 (TNA) - A Greek diplomat in Bangkok has been killed by a moving train in Thailand's western Kanchanaburi Province. The 30-year-old female diplomat, Aristea Liapi, an attaché attached to the Greece Embassy in Bangkok, was run over by the 257 train, serving the Thon Buri-Sai Yok Water Fall route, on Wednesday afternoon. Authorities initially assumed that her bag got stuck with a rail at the train's exit while she was getting off, causing her to roll into the wheels of the moving train and to be run over by the carriage. The accident took place at the 176/16 kilometre mark in the Loom Soom locality of Kanchanaburi's Sai Yok District. (TNA)
