Gulf Pharma-Medical Conference inaugurated

Manama, Sep1(BNA): Under the patronage of the Chairman of the Supreme Council for Health, Lt-General Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the first Gulf Pharma-Medical Conference has been inaugurated on Wednesday in the presence of Health Minister Sadiq bin Abdulkarim Al Shehabi; and, attended by more than 400 participants from Bahrain and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States. The two-day event is organized by the Bahrain Pharmacists Association in cooperation with the Internal Medicine Department of Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC), with support from the Saudi Pharmaceuticals Association. The Health Ministry's Undersecretary Dr. Ayesha Mubarak Bu Enq, Assistant Undersecretary for Hospitals Affairs Dr. Waleed Al Manni'; and, senior officials from the ministry, pharmaceutical and health institutions in the Kingdom attended the opening ceremony. Towards the end of the ceremony, the Chairman of the Supreme Council for Health honoured the conference's twenty guest-speakers and seventeen patron companies.
