Hamdan bin Mohammed Heritage Centre successfully concludes Eid Al Adha celebrations throughout the seven emirates

Dubai (WAM): The Eid Al Adha celebrations conducted by the Hamdan bin Mohammed Heritage Centre came to a close yesterday, following a three-day series of cultural events and activities all over the U.A.E.. The festivities began on Saturday, the first day of Eid Al Adha, in several of the country’s major shopping centres and councils, including Dubai Mall, in which festivities will continue until 11th October, Mall of the Emirates, Deira City Centre, Mirdif City Centre, Galleria Mall in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah City Centre, Fujairah City Centre, Umm Al Qaiwain Mall and Bawadi Mall, as well as events and activities at the Al Fahadi Council, Jumeirah Council and Al Rasheediya Council in Dubai. There were all kinds of fun and exciting activities for residents and visitors, such as Henna and other customary Emirati festivities. People also had the chance to try some tasty treats, such as classic Arabian coffee, traditional desserts and authentic Emirati cuisine. Children who attended these events were especially thrilled to receive Eidiya, which was distributed at fifteen locations across the U.A.E.. In addition, there were live musical performances of traditional dances and songs by Liwa, Eiyala and Al Harbiya, which were a delight to watch. Saif Al-Hajji, Director of the Executive Office at the Hamdan bin Mohammed Heritage Centre, who led the celebrations in Abu Dhabi, stated, "Our main goal this year has been to widen the spectrum of Eid activities at all the major shopping centres and councils in the country, so as to effectively showcase the rich Emirati culture and heritage. Particularly in the capital city of Abu Dhabi, where Eid activities were held for the first time at the Galleria Mall on Maryah Island, there was a high turnout and interaction from residents and visitors alike." He added, "It has brought us great pleasure and pride to see the overwhelmingly positive response from people of different nationalities, both young and old, who took part in the different events and activities with their families and friends. But the most immense satisfaction we have experienced during the course of the Eid programmes is seeing the smiles on the children’s faces when they visited the shopping centres and councils and experienced the various Emirati traditions first-hand." This is the fourth year in a row that the Hamdan bin Mohammed Heritage Centre has successfully organised activities for Eid Al Adha, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Board of the Hamdan bin Mohammed Heritage Centre, as part of the Centre’s continuous efforts to find new and innovative means to promote the U.A.E.’s heritage and to preserve the Emirati culture and traditions, particularly during the festive occasions like Eid. – Emirates News Agency, WAM – http://www.wam.ae/en/news/emirates/1395270544249.html
