Headstand not included at cadets’ school

Bangkok, Nov 24 - Headstand is not among exercise positions at the Armed Forces Academies Preparatory School, its commander says. Maj Gen Kanokpong Channuan, commander of the Armed Forces Academies Preparatory School, said that the heavily criticized headstand position with two feet and the head on the ground and both hands kept behind the back was not included in exercise regulations of the school and was not practiced there. He assured that anyone who ordered cadets to do the headstand would be punished. Maj Gen Kanokpong also said he contacted the father of late first-year cadet Pakapong “Moei” Tanyakan on Nov 23 and learned that the family was not ready to meet the supreme commander at the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters on Nov 24. Supreme Commander Gen Tanchaiyant Srisuwan visited the preparatory academy on Nov 24 to follow up the progress in the investigation to determine the cause of the first-year cadet's death.. (TNA)
