Health delegation on visit to South Korea

Seoul, Mar4(BNA) A high-level health delegation started a six-day official visit to South Korea last Monday (March1), in coordination with the World Bank. Led by Supreme Health Council President, Head of the High Medical Committee Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa, the delegation includes officials representing key health sectors. The delegation is scheduled to conduct a string of workshops, meetings and field visits which include in particular the Ministry of Health and the National Health Insurance Corporation in South Korea. Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier for supporting the National Health Insurance Project. He stressed the crucial importance of the vital project which, he said, would upgrade health services for patients in Bahrain, highlighting the national strategy which aims at elaborating an efficient policy to finance services through the implementation of the health insurance scheme. The delegation includes Health Ministry Undersecretary Dr. Aisha Bu’unq, Royal Medical Services Commandant Major-General Professor Shaikh Khalid bin Ali. Al-Khalifa, King Hamad University Hospital Commandant Major-General Dr. Shaikh Salman bin Ateyatalla Al-Khalifa, Assistant Undersecretary for Hospitals Dr. Waleed Al-Manea, Supreme Health Council secretary-general Ibrahim Al-Nawakhda and training and planning advisor Zahra Badr.
