Helicopter crashes, its crew killed due to clashes with insurgents north of Baghdad

Baghdad / NINA / A helicopter fell down and its crew of four people was killed on Wednesday 2, Oct in the district of Baiji, north of Tikrit. A security source told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / that "violent clashes broke out this morning between an Iraqi army force and gunmen in the (Sukariat) village (10 km) west of Baiji (30 km) north of Tikrit, backed by two helicopters. He added that one of the helicopters dropped a group of soldiers in the clashes' place and when it takeoff, exposed to heavy fire from insurgents, which led to the crash and the death of the crew of four people.
