Here comes scientific meeting on heritages of Khitans

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Archeology Institute of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences is planning to hold a scientific meeting on heritages of Khitans this Friday. The meeting is expected to gather representatives of archeological organizations, academicians and history enthusiasts. Goals of the event are to intensify academic works, to support cooperation, as well as to define further tendencies of Khitan studies. The history of the Khitans dates back to the 4th century. The Khitan people dominated much of Mongolia and modern Manchuria (Northeast China) by the 10th century, under the Liao Dynasty, and eventually collapsed by 1125 (or 1211).
