HH the Emir Meets FIFA President Blatter

Doha, July 23 (QNA) - HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al -Thani met here this evening with FIFA President Joseph Blatter , who is visiting the country at the invitation of HH the Emir. During the meeting, which was held at the Al Bahr Palace HH the Emir reviewed with the FIFA President existing relations of cooperation between the State of Qatar and the International Federation and ways of enhancing them, in addition to a number of topics of common interest, especially with regard to the last preparations for the organization of the World Cup 2022. The meeting also reviewed the achievements made on projects related to the organization of the tournament. For his part, Blatter expressed his pleasure to meet HH the Emir and said : "I was very pleased to meet today the highest political authority the Emir of Qatar. It was great to see his and Qatars commitment to use the 2022 FIFA World Cup to achieve positive social change and to promote the host country and the region. Qatar takes its responsibility as host serious. We also discussed the importance to further development of football in the region," explained FIFA President Blatter. The meeting was attended by HH Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al -Thani, the Personal Representative of the HH the Emir It was also attended by the International Football Federation Secretary General Mr. Jerome Valcke.(QNA)
