HH the Emir of Qatar Issues Decree Law on Educational Vouchers

Doha, September 08 (QNA) - HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani on Monday issued Decree Law No. 13 of 2014 amending some provisions of Law No. 7 of 2012 on educational voucher system. The law stipulated that the Supreme Education Council (SEC) pays to schools the value of education vouchers mentioned in Article 1 of the law on behalf of all registered Qatari students. The minister of education and higher education is to issue a decision setting the regulations and procedures of the implementation of the educational voucher system. The law is effective as of the date of its publication in the official gazette. Under the law, the educational voucher system does not apply to children of government employees whom workplace gives them special advantages in tuition fees. (QNA)
