HIA Prepares for Increasing Traffic During Eid Al Adha

Doha, September 30 (QNA) - Hamad International Airport (HIA), Qatar's new world-class gateway to the world, is preparing for the increase of departing and arriving passengers during the Eid Al Adha period. "We would like to wish all our passengers and residents of Qatar Eid Mubarak. During this special holiday when many people will be visiting friends and loved ones all over the world, HIA is working tirelessly to ensure that all our passengers have an enjoyable and pleasant travel experience," said Badr Al Meer, HIA chief operating officer. During and after Eid Al Adha, HIA will also be welcoming back passengers from Hajj they will be able to find the Zamzam water collection point located on the ground level, near the short term car park. To ensure passengers have a pleasurable and relaxed time at the airport, HIA advises them to arrive at the airport three hours before their flight departure time. HIA also reminds passengers that check-in will close 60 minutes prior to departure so they should take advantage of the easy and convenient online check-in service offered by airlines such as Qatar Airways. Public dropping off and collecting passengers are advised that HIA offers free parking for the first 30 minutes in the short-term car park, and QAR 5 per hour thereafter. Passengers who drive their own cars to the airport will find free parking in the long-term car park where they will be offered a free bus ride to the bus terminal at HIA. All unattended vehicles parked on the curb side throughout the HIA facility will be towed away by the authorities. A total of 2,475,340 travelers departed, transferred and arrived in Qatar during August 2014. HIA is expecting the total number of passengers to increase yet again during the Eid Al Adha holiday period. (QNA)
