Hitachi to take part in Thailand's infrastructure development

BANGKOK, May 9 (TNA) - Hitachi, a leading Japanese business conglomerate, has announced a plan to take part in Thailand's infrastructure development plans, with a focus on the government's new transport projects. Hitachi President Hiroaki Nakanishi told journalists of the plan on Wednesday, after his meeting with Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinnawatra at Bangkok's Government House, acknowledging that Hitashi has continually engaged in investment projects in Thailand, as the conglomerate considers the Kingdom as its business hub in the region, and thanked Thailand for steady support. Hitashi President emphasized on his conglomerate's interest in using its globally-recognized expertise to work together with Thailand on new high speed train projects. The Thai premier said, meanwhile, that she asked Hitachi to gather information on cooperative areas it wants to further boost with Thailand for mutual benefits and she welcomes Japanese expertise in the country's future development, including new mega-infrastructure projects, worth over 67 billion US dollars.
