HM King receives Chairman, members of King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence

Manama, Feb. 10 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received at Safriya Palace today Board of Trustees Chairman of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence, Dr. Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Assistant Foreign Minister, Abdullah bin Faisal Al Dosari and members of the centre, on the occasion of the inauguration of the Declaration of the Kingdom of Bahrain in South America starting from the Federative Republic of Brazil. The inauguration was held last December in cooperation with Bahrain’s embassy in Brazil and in conjunction with the kingdom’s celebration of the National Day and HM the King’s Accession to the Throne. It was attended by Brazilian President, Jair Bolsonaro. HM the King got updated on the success of the function which reflected the kingdom’s vision in promoting peaceful coexistence and dialogue between cultures and religions. The event also highlighted Bahrain’s pioneering role and civilisational and humanitarian position throughout its history. HM the King affirmed that the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence is the best ambassador for the kingdom, noting that peaceful coexistence, tolerance and peace have become more influential in boosting this field. HM expressed thanks and appreciation to the President of the friendly Federative Republic of Brazil for his support to Bahrain’s trends and initiatives, which reflects deep-rooted relations between the two friendly countries and peoples and their perpetual growth in all areas. HM the King praised continuous efforts of the Chairman and members of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence in promoting the centre’s noble message and achieving its humanitarian goals of fostering peace and tolerance and underlining freedom of thought and belief. HM affirmed that Bahrain will remain an all-inclusive country of pluralism as well as cultural, religious and humanitarian coexistence. He stressed that the kingdom will maintain its approach of moderation and openness on the world while holding to its inherent national fundamentals. Dr. Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa extended sincere congratulations to HM the King on the graduation of the first batch of the King Hamad Faith in Leadership Programme, a specialized training session for peaceful coexistence that was held in cooperation with the University of Oxford. He also expressed thanks and gratitude to HM the King for praising the role of the centre and the efforts of its personnel. He commended HM’s wisdom and forward-looking vision to support all endeavors aimed at boosting human welfare. He lauded the pioneering and civilisational royal initiatives to foster tolerance and peaceful coexistence. The Secretary General of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence submitted a report on the centre’s present and future plans and programmes.
