HM King receives copy of US State Department Tip report

Manama, July 10 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today at the Safriya Palace received US Ambassador to Bahrain, Justin Hicks Siberell, who presented HM the King with a copy of the US Department of State report on upgrading Bahrain to Tier 1 status in recognition of its commitment to combatting human trafficking.

HM the king took pride in Bahrain’s international achievement as the first Arab State to reach Tier 1 in the US Department of State Trafficking in Persons (TiP) Report. He commended the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Labour Market Regulatory Authority and the National Committee to combat trafficking in Persons who brought this remarkable achievement.

HM the king stressed the achievement reflects Bahrain’s commitment to international standards, joining the international community’s efforts to fight trafficking in persons and bolstering the culture of human rights based on principles of respect, equality and justice.

HM the King lauded the longstanding relations and solid partnership with the US based on trust, respect and joint coordination in the interest of the two countries and their citizens. He noted the progressing relations highlighted by mutual desire to further boost them in various fields.

HM the King pointed out the US efforts in cooperation with its allies and friends to maintain security and stability in the region, underlining Bahrain’s support for the same.
