HM King's visit to Egypt to boost bilateral ties

Manama, Aug. 4 (BNA): The Egyptian Ambassador to Bahrain Issam Awad has asserted that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s visit to Egypt to participate in the inauguration ceremony of the new Suez Canal on Thursday adds to HM’s outstanding supportive stances towards his country. HM King Hamad is among the most supportive Arab leaders to Egypt, he said, noting that the Royal support was stressed on many occasions, and affirmed in many statements, as well as exchanged messages between him and the Egyptian President Abel-Fattah Al-Sisi. In a statement the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), Ambassador Awad said that HM the King’s participation in his country’s celebrations of the inauguration of its new gift to the world –the Suez Canal- reflects the strength of the distinguished relations bonding the two countries and their brotherly peoples. HM King Hamad’s participation enjoys President Al-Sisi’s personal interest and that of the Egyptian people, which was reflected in the telephone call held recently between the two leaders. The envoy asserted that since President Al-Sisi came to power, HM the King enhanced the kingdom’s support to Egypt in the political and economic fields, citing his participation in the Egypt Economic Development Conference - EEDC, hosted by Sharm El-Sheikh in March, 2015. The steady growth of the Bahraini-Egyptian relations is also evident in the participation of the Egyptian naval and air forces in joint drills in the kingdom bearing HM the King’s name, and constant coordination between HM King and President Al-Sisi on various Arab, Islamic, regional and international levels.
