HMC Reports 13 Organ Transplant Surgeries

Doha, June 03 (QNA) - Hamad Medical Corporation has done 13 organ transplant procedures since the beginning of this year, the state-run healthcare services provider said Wednesday. HMC surgeons have done four liver and nine kidney transplants so far. The hospital recently did three successful procedures - two kidneys and one liver transplant from a dead donor. The number of transplantation procedures done in the period January-April 2015 equal the number of organ transplants done in full of 2014, the hospital said. Qatar Center for Organ Transplantation Director and Hamad General Hospital Director Dr. Yousuf Al Maslamani said the success in organ transplants is due to the sincere efforts of HMC's medical and nursing staff and the Center.
