HOLLYWOOD WANTS TO COOPERATE IN "CHINGIS KHAAN" FILM CREATION

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of education, culture and sciences L.Gantomor received May 19 a delegates from Hollywood, the USA, to discuss about establishing a complex of Hollywood-class movies in Mongolia. The guests said that a "Hollywood film school of Mongolia" LLC is working on purchasing the Hollywood film art study module and to introduce it to Mongolian film art education system, "in this we want to get Your permission". They delegates also talked about their intention to establish a movie complex, film art school, and a fund for promoting film art, and to base Walt Disney branch in Mongolia, and asked for a support from the State. In response, the Minister said he is particularly delighted that they want to introduce to Mongolia the education system of Hollywood and build a school. He promised to show policy support for the educational works. However, he said, the law on film art should be developed. About establishing a movie fund he said the draft law will reflect a resolution that directs to add some amount of film revenue to the fund, in accordance with international practices. As for the "Mollywood" complex, he added, the project team will have to submit a proposal and feasibility study for the complex in order to win permits and investment. The Hollywood plans to make a film named "Chingis Khaan" in 2016, which 20 percent will be shot in Mongolia, the visitors said and asked the Minister to cooperate in this and to support in getting necessary documentations. Present at the meeting were a head of Culture Policy Management Department of the Ministry D.Gantomor, a contracted representative of the Hollywood Film Academy, producer Bradley Hong, a founder of Walt Disney affiliates ESPN, ABC, CBC, TS Turner Sport channels, coordinating producer of Olympics Michael Pearl, a Hollywood martial arts director Eric Chung, a head of Filmmakers’ Association of Chinese Inner Mongolia Ning Cai, and a head of the Mongolian Film Art Council D.Nyamdorj.
