Home Minister Calls On Malaysian To Condemn Israeli Violence In Gaza

KUALA LUMPUR, July 11 (Bernama)-- Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has called on Malaysians to unite in condemning the Israel regime's attack on Palestinians in Gaza. "In the spirit of humanity, in the month of Ramadan, let us unite and condemn violence against our brotherhood in Gaza. May they have the strength to face these challenges," he said in a statement. The media has reported at least 81 Palestinians were killed and hundreds injured after the Israeli military regime launched air strikes on the Gaza strip. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was reportedly said they had deployed 40,000 troops to launch a ground offensive into Gaza in an operation dubbed as 'Operation Border Protection'. Meanwhile, the Malaysian Assembly of Mosque Youth also slammed the Israeli regime's attack on Muslims in Gaza in the month of ramadhan. The movement chief Dr Mohammad Nawar Ariffin said the Israeli action would lead to provocation and hostility to Palestinians and among Muslims in the world. "Members of mosque youth are condemning the Israeli's violence and hope Prime Minister Najib Razak would send a diplomatic note to President Barack Obama for an immediate cessation of military operations on Gaza. He also called on Malaysians to channel contribution through a non-governmental organisation which would launch aid mission to Gaza. -- BERNAMA
