Hong Kong movie stars to visit Bangkok's Ratchaprasong area

BANGKOK, September 22 (TNA) - Two popular movie stars and personalities from Hong Kong are scheduled to visit Bangkok's Ratchaprasong area on Tuesday evening to help boost Thailand’s tourism, following a deadly bomb attack in the area last month. State-run Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Governor Yuthasak Supasorn told journalists that TAT has cooperated with Thai Airways International (THAI), the national flag carrier, to invite actress Michelle Yim Wai Ling and actor Simon Yam Tat Wah to pay a four-day visit to Thailand, set from September 21-24, and to pay respect to the Erawan Shrine at Bangkok’s Ratchaprasong Intersection, the scene of the deadly explosion on August 17, which killed 20 victims, mostly foreigners, and wounded about 130 others. Another bombing attack took place on August 18 at Bangkok’s Sathon Pier, but no casualties were reported. The Hong Kong movie actress will also perform a dance in front of the Erawan Shrine and to give an interview to the press. TAT has also invited several other Hong Kong personalities, including Michael Lam, a popular food programme organiser, a fashion designer, Derek Li, and a TV programmer on tourism, Roger Wu, to visit the Kingdom at the same time.
