HRH CP meets King of Jordan ahead of Climate Change Conference in Paris

Manama, Nov 29 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, today met His Majesty King Abdullah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, ahead of the 21st Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 21) in Paris, France. The COP 21 is set to focus on a new international agreement to address climate change, and His Royal Highness will be attending on behalf of His Majesty King Hamad. During the meeting, His Royal Highness highlighted the strong and strategic ties between Bahrain and Jordan, and added that both countries continue to expand cooperation across a range of sectors. His Royal Highness and His Majesty the King of Jordan then discussed areas of shared interests, as well as international and regional developments, particularly within Syria. The meeting also presented an opportunity to discuss ways to combat extremist ideologies, and other initiatives related to the COP 21 conference.
