HRH the Crown Prince receives report outlining initiatives and key priority areas for the government’s future goals

Manama, Aug. 9 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister today received the Deputy Prime Minister, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa at Gudaibiya Palace. The Deputy Prime Minister presented HRH the Crown Prince with the final report on key policies and initiatives that will inform the upcoming Government Action Plan (2019 - 2022). This follows directives issued by HRH the Crown Prince during the 2017 Government Forum for government officials to lead a series of workshops to identify mechanisms and key priority areas for incorporation into the government’s future goals. • The report follows a series of workshops and coordination meetings held between November 2017 and May 2018, which have led to the development of over 106 new initiatives and 29 policies. This included four workshops focused on the following areas: o Sustainable economic development, strengthening the Kingdom’s long-term fiscal security and fast-tracking infrastructure projects o Policies, legislation and enhancing government performance • Public services and enhancing environmental protection HRH the Crown Prince highlighted that the Kingdom’s core objective is to ensure sustainable development meets citizens’ aspirations, and added that the workshops will play an important role in ensuring that a brighter future for all Bahrainis is being delivered in line with a clear framework. HRH the Crown Prince went on to extend thanks and appreciation to the Deputy Prime Minister for the key role he has played in leading government workshops, and to the Deputy Prime Ministers and all those who have participated in the government workshops, which have each underscored the importance of continuous collaboration to drive forward national development and government efficiency. The Deputy Prime Minister thanked HRH the Crown Prince for recognising the success of coordination meetings and workshops, and highlighted HRH the Crown Prince’s crucial role in meeting the goals of the Government Forum and promoting excellence across Bahrain's key sectors. The Deputy Prime Minister went on to affirm that the final report, including key initiatives and policies that will inform the government’s future goals, is centred on strengthening the role played by citizens in accelerating sustainable development. The 2017 Government Forum was held in October 2017 under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister, and through the initiative of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince. The Forum outlined the government’s progress in implementing initiatives and programmes as part of the Government Action Plan (2015-2018).
