HRH Premier chairs working meeting

Manama, June 14 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa chaired, at the Gudaibiya Palace today, a working meeting which he devoted to a number of economic and legislative issues that guarantee social protection, support savings and ensure their sustainability. HRH Premier stressed the need to put an end to negative commercial practices that affect the freedom of business activities. In this regard, the Prime Minister gave directives to develop regulations on sub-leasing to ensure that it is exploited in affecting business activities or undermining the freedom to exercise economic activities or having an impact on economic security. HRH Premier requested the Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister to prepare the regulations and submit them to the Cabinet.  On the financial situation of pension funds, HRH Premier stressed the need to focus on achieving growth for such funds in accordance with optimal risk management, and through dealing with the insurance products and investment with more efficiency. The Prime Minister emphasised the importance of preserving the citizens’ rights through ensuring the sustainability of insurance funds and the continuity of their services, as well as preventing any impacts on their actuarial status. HRH Premier stressed that the revision of laws is required by the urgent need for ensuring sustainability of insurance funds, while taking into account the rights of citizens and their interests to reach solutions that satisfy and achieve the interests of everyone.
