HRH Premier praises solid ties with India

Manama, Apr. 19 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has stressed that cooperation between the Kingdom and India can still be expanded to cover many areas in order to enhance the outstanding ties between them. He pointed out that doors are wide open for more trade and economic cooperation between the two friendly countries, based on their shared long history in this regard. HRH Premier made the remarks as he received at the Gudaibiya Palace today the outgoing Indian Ambassador to Bahrain Muhan Kumar. HRH the Prime Minister asserted that the strong long-standing Bahraini-Indian relations have always been based on mutual respect and joint interests, emphasising Bahrain's keenness on bolstering cooperation with friendly India, given its economic weight in the regional and global arenas. HRH Premier expressed the Government of Bahrain's appreciation of the landmark contributions of the Indian expatriate community to all development fields in the kingdom. HRH Premier commended the efforts exerted by Ambassador Kumar throughout his tenure in strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing joint cooperation, wishing him every success in his future diplomatic assignments. The Indian envoy lauded HRH Premier's directives to boost bilateral relations, and constant follow-up of the progress of cooperation between the two countries, which, he said, has ensured its steady growth. He expressed his country's admiration of the landmark development strides made by the government, led by HRH Premier, which, he affirmed, has entitled the kingdom to be a leader in the political, economic and development fields. The Indian Ambassador expressed pride in the kingdom as a bright model of co-existence and cohesion. He also extended sincere thanks to the government for its support for the Indian expat community in Bahrain.
