HRH Premier receives Shura Council chairman

Manama, June 13 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received the Shura Council Chairman, Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh, at the Gudaibiya Palace today. The Prime Minister was informed about the Shura Council’s opinion on a number of laws and legislation, as part of his consultation, coordination and cooperation meetings with the Legislative Branch. HRH Premier stressed his keenness to ensure that laws should support public interests and those of the citizens in a way that does not affect the sustainability of resources and gains in the future. HRH Premier affirmed that the government is always keen on ensuring the sustainability of resources, preserving public funds and maintaining rights and gains. The Prime Minister emphasised the government’s desire to ensure that laws and legislations should always support its policies aimed at striking a balance between achieving the citizens’ interests, and ensuring the sustainability of gains for future generations, within the framework of constant consultations and consensus on top national interests. HRH Premier reviewed with Al-Saleh a number of topics pertaining to the existing cooperation between the government and the Council of Representatives on everything aimed at achieving the interests of the nation. In this regard, HRH the Prime Minister expressed pride in the role played by the Legislature in the national action march, praising the role of constructive Executive-Legislature cooperation in attaining national achievements. Al-Saleh extended deepest thanks and appreciation to HRH Premier for his constant desire to consolidate cooperation and coordination with the Legislative Branch, noting that cooperation between the two branches is a milestone in the kingdom’s parliamentary experience. He stressed the Shura Council’s appreciation of HRH Premier’s directives to all ministries and government departments to strengthen cooperation with the Legislative Branch to bring about more landmark achievements for Bahrain and its people.
