HRH Premier receives Sudanese ambassador

Manama, Oct. 4 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman received at the Gudaibiya Palace today the newly-appointed Sudan's Ambassador to Bahrain Abdulrahman Khalil Ahmed, who conveyed to him greetings from the Sudanese President Omar Hassan Ahmed Al-Bashir and First Vice-President Bakri Hassan Saleh, and their wishes of abundant good health and happiness to him and of further progress and prosperity to the kingdom. The ambassador extended sincere congratulations to HRH Premier on the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Sustainable Development Award conferred on him by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), describing the Award as a source of pride for Bahrain and the Arab and Islamic nations. He renewed an invitation to HRH Premier to visit Sudan. HRH the Prime Minister hailed the advanced level of the Bahraini-Sudanese relations, and the two countries' keenness on bolstering them in various fields, lauding the steady progress of bilateral cooperation. HRH Premier praised the effective participation of the Sudanese community in the kingdom's development projects, and reiterated Bahrain's support for efforts to ensure Sudan's stability and enable it to enhance its development. The Prime Minister pledged that the new envoy will receive all needed support so as to be able to boost joint cooperation. The meeting also touched upon a number of local and regional issues of common interest. The Sudanese envoy expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to HRH Premier for his desire to bolster ties with Sudan and open up new cooperation horizons with it.
