Human Appeal International distributes winter aid to Palestinian children

Ramallah: Human Appeal International (HAI) is distributing winter supplies including warm clothes to more than 1000 Palestinian children as part of its plan to protect Palestinian people from bitter cold wave that hit the occupied Palestinian territories. Ibrahim Rashid, director of HAI in the West Bank, said the winter aid programme aims to provide children of poor families with clothing to survive in the harsh cold weather. He added that the assistance is part of a Dh one million urgent response to relieve 30,000 needy Palestinian families who could not afford to secure basic winter needs from blankets, heaters, and food stuff. He said the HAI's winter aid programme has been well received by beneficiary families as the UAE charity organisation has adopted a creative mechanism allowing them to select clothes fit for them from shops HAI has contracted in governorates badly affected by the tough winter weather. Providing families with materials and sets needed for heating in places of severe coldness. Moreover, HAI supplied coal, heating fuel or heating sets required to create a warm atmosphere in winter. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
