Human Rights Minister receives OHCHR delegation

Manama, Apr 24 (BNA) – Minister of Human Rights, Dr. Salah bin Ali Abdulrahman, today received Executive Director of the Middle East and North Africa Office of the UN High Commission for Human Rights (OHCHR), Faraj Fneish, Head of the Human Rights Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Tunisia, Mazen Shaqoura and a member of the Middle East and North Africa Office in Geneva, Georgia Brennan. Human Rights Minister highlighted Bahrain's keenness to reinforce cooperation relations with OHCHR and to benefit from training capabilities in capacity building and developing human rights work in Bahrain. The Minister praised the seminar held by delegation on prisons conditions and prisoners' rights, in the presence of a number of members of official agencies and civil society institutions. He also lauded the outcome of the seminar held by the delegation on the role of the National Institution for Human Rights in promoting and protecting human rights. MJ
