Hundreds Of Houses Inundated In Bali

NEGARA, Bali, Nov 7 (Antara) - A flood triggered by heavy rains inundated hundreds of houses at Kaliakah village, Jembrana district, Bali province, on Saturday as the water level rose to 50 cm deep. The heavy rains caused the local river to overflow, leaving some 500 houses inundated, an Antara journalist observed on Saturday. To prevent the flood water from inundating their houses, local residents put sacks filled with sand and oil around their houses. "Many residents have lost cattle, including chicken as well as valuable items which have been carried away by flood water," a local resident, Nengah Poster, said. No residents have fled their flooded houses. There was no immediate report of casualties or material damage.
