Hungarian PM To Visit Indonesia To Boost Bilateral Relations

Jakarta, Jan 26 (Antara) - Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban will meet President Joko Widodo during a visit to Indonesia on January 31-February 2 in a bid to boost bilateral relations. "This is an important visit as we want to intensify cooperation with Indonesia," Hungarian Ambassador to Indonesia Judit Nemeth-Pach noted during a press briefing here on Tuesday. Ambassador Nemeth-Pach explained that Hungary is keen on enhancing cooperation with Indonesia as the country will benefit from a demographic bonus in the next one to two decades, in which young people would constitute majority of its population. During his visit to Capital Jakarta, Prime Minister Orban and President Widodo will witness a signing event of two memoranda of understanding (MoU) between Hungary and Indonesia on cooperation in the fields of fisheries and aquaculture as well as on higher education. Nemeth-Pach noted that Prime Minister Orban will also lead a business delegation comprising 50 CEOs and other higher managerial level individuals representing Hungarian companies to meet their Indonesian counterparts during a business forum to be held in Jakarta on February 1. "There will also be MoU signing events on business cooperation between Hungarian and Indonesian companies," she revealed. Some of the business agreements to be signed at the Indonesia-Hungarian Business Forum are MoU on cooperation between the two countries' chambers of commerce and industry, water management agencies, news agencies for information exchange, and IT start-ups. After visiting Jakarta, Prime Minister Orban will head to Yogyakarta to present a general lecture on the theme of the importance of sovereignty in facing global challenges. "We proposed to our prime minister to visit Yogyakarta as it is the city of education, culture, and spiritualism," Nemeth-Pach remarked. While in Yogyakarta, Orban will visit the Prambanan Temple and will attend a dinner reception hosted by Governor of Yogyakarta Sultan Hamengku Buwono X.
