"Hunnu air" starts direct flight to Bangkok

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ “Hunnu air” company has started its direct flights every Sunday from Ulaanbaatar to Bangkok from June 23. This direct flight is implementing in frames of the Action plan of the Cabinet for Reform on developing air transportation sector. Hunnu Air is a Mongolian domestic airline that began scheduled flights in 2011. The company changed its former name "Mongolian Airlines Group" in April 2013 to avoid confusion with the similarly named Mongolian international flag air carrier "MIAT Mongolian Airlines". In September 2011, "Mongolian Airlines Group LLC" was founded, with 100% share acquisition of AN-2 aircraft's operation rights by "Tselmeg Tengeriin Nisleg LLC". This acquisition of historic aircraft previously operated by MIAT Mongolian Airlines and its claims to the ownership of the history of MIAT Mongolian Airlines as well as its name led to some confusion in public, which eventually led to the name change. The airline commenced services on December 2, 2011. The company purchased two Dutch manufactured Fokker-50 type aircraft in 2011 and commenced its first scheduled domestic flight on January 2, 2012. With the leasing of two Airbus A319 aircraft, delivered in early 2012, it became the first operator with such aircraft in Mongolia.
