ICYL 2015 To Focus On Social Entrepeneurship

KUALA LUMPUR, March 19 (Bernama) -- The International Conference for Young Leaders (ICYL) 2015 will highlight the importance and enhancement of social entrepreneurship through long-term sustainability, networking and skills in social entrepreneurism. The Youth and Sports Ministry said in a statement that the three-day conference, with the theme 'Changing Communities through Social Entrepreneurship' was aimed at exploring social entrepreneurship as a new global economic model and to expand opportunities for youths. It said it was hoped that ICYL, organised by the Institute for Youth Research Malaysia (IYRES), would bring a new paradigm shift by opening young minds to new job opportunities and to explore new areas for youths who are less experienced. Prime Minister Najib Razak is scheduled to open the conference Thursday at the Putra World Trade Centre, here. The conference will see special awards presented to youths who had contributed towards youth development in Malaysia in the context of social entrepreneurship. The awards are divided into seven categories, namely Education & Employability; Civic Action and Human Rights; Environmental Conservation & Sustainability; Arts, Culture & Heritage; Less is More; Poverty Alleviation and Youth-Friendly Company of the Year. -- BERNAMA
