IEGA celebrates Bahraini Women's Day

Manama, Dec. 1 (BNA): The Informatics and E-Government Authority (IEGA)'s CEO Mohammed Ali Al Qaed and the IEGA directors held a gathering for woman employees in appreciation of their effective contribution in all professional sectors and domains. Al Qaed commended the role of Bahraini working women, citing the designation of Bahraini Women's Day on December 1 each and every year as a nationwide initiative to commemorate the role of career women in all fields who have proven their capacity to perform their job duties efficiently and meritoriously. He said the Informatics and E-Government Authority attaches great importance to Bahraini women and has formed equal opportunity units EOUs last year as part of such attention to activate the role of women and to include their requirements in the services provided, and to achieve equal opportunities to women employees and beneficiaries from the e-Government programme. It is worth mentioning that women account for 46% of IEGA staff in its Muharraq offices. The Bahraini Women's Day this year has been dedicated to celebrate working women in the financial and banking sector in line with the historical accomplishments achieved by women in this sector and their capacity to effectively contribute in consecrating Bahrain's role as a leading regional and international financial hub.
