IFRC commends U.A.E. RCA quick response for Typhoon Haiyan victim relief

Abu Dhabi (WAM): The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, IFRC, has commended the quick response of the United Arab Emirates' Red Crescent Authority (U.A.E. RCA) for the relief provided to victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. The Federation expressed its deep gratitude for the valuable and generous contributions of the U.A.E. RCA in supporting the efforts made to alleviate the suffering of those affected by the typhoon. In a letter of thanks sent by Jagan Chapagain, Director of the IFRC's Asia Pacific zone office to U.A.E. RCA, he stressed the importance of the programmes and projects adopted by the Authority to mitigate effects of the hurricane on those affected. He noted that thanks to this support, the IFRC has maintained stability in the afflicted regions despite the after-effects of the hurricane. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
