ILO, UNHCR urged to scrutinize forced marriage among MKO terrorists

Tehran, IRNA - The Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism of the Middle East and the Worker House of the Islamic Republic of Iran have urged international organizations to probe into forced labor and marriage in the MKO terrorist camp. The Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism of the Middle East and the Worker House of the Islamic Republic of Iran wrote in a letter to Director-General of the International Labour Organization (ILO) Gilbert F. Houngbo and the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (UNHCR) Volker Türk that the organizations are expected to stop committing such crimes in this terrorist group. The two entities also expressed regret that the number of modern slavery and forced marriage are increasing, and underlined that such Middle Ages crimes, which are being committed by groups such as the MKO, al-Qaeda, and Daesh against human society, deeply affect the labor society and others; so, the International Labour Organization is called for finding a resolution. We share the agony of thousands of people, who have been affected by slavery and forced marriage in the MKO terrorist group since its formation in Iraq with the support of the former dictator Saddam Hussain and now in Albania, the letter warned, adding that the phenomenon of forced divorce is another violation of human rights that is common in the MKO camp. The Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism of the Middle East and the Worker House of the Islamic Republic of Iran urge the ILO and the UNHCR to form an investigatory group to probe into the crimes committed in the MKO camp in Albania, the letter said. Copies of the letter have been sent to ministries of justice, and foreign affairs as well as attorney generals in both Albania and Iran in order to follow up on the issue and help resolve it.
