Inche-Boroun to display Golestan handicrafts

Gorgan, Dec 1, IRNA – Handicrafts of the Caspian province of Golestan will be displayed in an expo at Inche-Boroun border on the sidelines of the inaugural ceremony of Gorgan-Inche-Boroun railway, an official said on Monday. “The exhibition will be held on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the stated railway and will be attended by presidents of the countries of Iran-Turkmenistan- Kazakhstan,” Qorban Abbasi, head of Golestan’s Cultural Heritage, Handcrafts and Tourism Organization added. “The event will showcase original works of Golestan in the border railway station of Inche-Boroun which will open on Wednesday,” he announced. The crafts will include jajim (a two-sided flat-woven rug), carpets, gabbeh (a kind of rug), ghilim (flat tapestry carpet) and Batik printing (painting and printing on cloth). Gorgan-Inche Boroun-Turkmenistan railway is part of Gorgan-Inche Boroun-Atrak-Barakat railway project in Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran which starts from Ozon area in Kazakhstan and after passing through east of the Caspian Sea reaches Turkmenistan, thereon passing through Atrak in Iran and continues its route from Inche Boroun towards Gorgan. The length of this railway which is built in east of the Caspian Sea is about 908 km of which 120 km is in Kazakhstan, 700 in Turkmenistan and 88 km in Iran. The railway route connects the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) to the Persian Gulf and the South East Asian nations./end
