India's envoy calls for development of economic relations with Razavi Foundation

Mashad, March 7, IRNA – India's ambassador Shri D.P. Srivastava to Tehran on Saturday called for development of economic relations with Razavi Foundation. Shri D.P. Srivastava made the remarks in a meeting with managing director of Razavi Economic Foundation. He said that India intends to increase its economic cooperation with Razavi Foundation. He added he held negotiations with officials of the foundation and hoped for development of ties with Khorasan-e Razavi province, which is full of economic capacities and potentials for economic cooperation with Indian private sector. Srivastava said that Razavi Foundation is a great enterprise with big holdings, operating in the field of trade and commerce and would develop trade ties with India's businessmen. Iran and India have historical and cultural affinities which would serve as opportunity for development of economic ties. Srivastava added that Iran has plenty of tourist and pilgrimage attractions and many tourists come from India to pay pilgrimage to Imam Reza holy Shrine. He said that the Indian businessmen are willing to develop economic and trade ties with Khorasan-e Razavi province. Managing Director of Razavi Enterprise Mehdi Azizian, for his part, said that the Khorasan-e Razavi province enjoys extraordinary capacities and welcomed investment of India's investors. He added the province is as a connecting corridor between Asian countries with Europe and a way to free waters and in this concern Sarakhs Special Economic Zone in northwestern of the province is an extraordinary infra-structure to absorb foreign investment from the Central Asian countries. Azizian added that a full feasibility study was carried by the Razavi Foundation for bilateral and multilateral cooperation with countries of the Middle East and Central Asia in development of petrochemical and steel industries in Khorasan-e Razavi province. India is the fourth big economy of the world with the average growth of 8 percent and is among main Iran's trade partners in Asia. Razavi Enterprise has several factories in flour and baking industry, pharmaceutical plant, diary products, construction firms, sugar factory and agricultural products.
