Indonesia Delegation Visit Moscow On Track II Dialogue

Moscow, Sept 17 (Antara) - An Indonesian delegation led by Director General for Information and Public Communication of the Indonesian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology Freddy H. Tulung is in Moscow, Russia, to promote second track diplomacy. The mission of the Indonesian delegation was conveyed by Director General Freddy Tulung while paying a courtesy visit to the Indonesian Ambassador to Russia and Belarus Jauhari Oratmangun here on Wednesday. "I would like to tell your Excellency that our visit to Moscow is to strengthen the relations between Indonesia and Russia, especially through public diplomacy," Freddy affirmed. This is, of course, based on second track diplomacy where non-state actors benefit by contributing to the efforts of enhancing the mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, he stated. "On this very special occasion, I would like to inform the people of Russia about the current situation in Indonesia, particularly on the development of democracy following the general elections, which ran peacefully. And thus, we expect the two countries can take every effort for creating and maintaining peace and welfare of the people around the world," he emphasized. To showcase the development of democracy in Indonesia, we plan to hold a photo exhibition, so that the visitors to this event will be able to gain an insight into how Indonesia and its people enjoy dynamic democracy, he emphasized. Freddy hoped that Indonesia and Russia could share their experiences in dealing with democracy for the better future of their people, he added.
