Indonesia Hosts ASEAN Flag Raising Ceremony In Hungry

LONDON, UK, Aug 10 (Antara) - Indonesia has hosted an ASEAN flag raising ceremony in Hungary in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the organization. A statement from the Indonesian embassy in Budapest received by Antara here on Wednesday mentioned the ceremony was attended by Deputy State Secretary, the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Szilvester Bus, the Director General of Asia Pacific of Hungary, Sandor Sipos, Ambassadors of ASEAN's fellow countries, and media. Indonesian Ambassador to Hungary, Wening Esthyprobo, at the event invited the guests to get to know ASEAN. Meanwhile, the Philippines Ambassador to Hungary, Maria Fe T. Pangilinan, said the ASEAN challenge towards 2025 requires solid cooperation among its member states in resolving issues with deliberation, and should be more involved in global issues for a better future. Deputy State Secretary Bus as the representative of the Hungarian government asserted that ASEAN is an important partner of Hungary and other Central European countries. Hungary as the fastest growing country in Central Europe is an appropriate partner for ASEAN countries in economic and trade, and political fields, he added. According to Bus, ASEAN has positive dynamics that can inspire Hungary and the EU.
