Indonesia Seeks Long-Term Coop With Spain's Airbus Military

London, Dec 6 (ANTARA) - Indonesia has sought long-term cooperation with Spain`s Airbus Military, after the signing of an agreement between PT Dirgantara Indonesia and the Spanish company in April. Therefore, Indonesia`s national development planning board head, Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana, visited the Airbus Military plant in Sevilla, Spain, recently, Indonesian embassy counsellor Theodorus Satrio Nugroho told ANTARA here on Wednesday. He said Armida visited the Airbus Military plant on Monday. Through this cooperation, Indonesia hopes to become a global hub for aircraft production, Nugroho added. He stated that a lot of investment and support from the government would be needed to make PT Dirgantara Indonesia a global company. PT Dirgantara Indonesia is considered to have the capability to become a world-class aircraft company. It is being hoped that this cooperation effort would boost PT Dirgantara Indonesia`s capacity, Nugroho said. Meanwhile, Indonesian Ambassador to Spain Adiyatwidi Adiwoso expressed hope that the minister`s visit would help improve Indonesia`s access to aircraft technology and the global aircraft market, as well as increase the country`s production capacity. From Spain, Armida proceeded to Britain to lead the steering committee of Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation and attend a high-level meeting of OECD Development Assistance Committee on December 4-5. Armida, as the co-chairperson of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation, is leading the steering committee meeting with Nigerian Finance Minister Ngozi Iweala and British Secretary of State for International Development Juntin Greening.
