LONDON, July 4 (Antara) - Indonesia's delegation comprising the diaspora community, Franco-Indonesie Association, and students displayed the nation's arts and cultures, including forms of dance and music from Bali, Kalimantan, Maluku, and North Sumatra, at the Carnaval Tropical de Paris. According to a statement from the Indonesian Embassy in Paris received by Antara here on Monday, the annual Carnaval Tropical de Paris, organized along the Champs Elysees and Arc de Triomphe in Paris on Sunday (July 2) by the Paris Mayor's Office, bore the theme of sports and culture. Some 33 elected participants, 29 French Community Associations, and delegations from four countries participated in the event. Indonesia was the only Asian country to have been elected to perform at this prestigious event. The other nations were Colombia, Bolivia, Brazil, and Peru. Carnaval Tropical de Paris was covered live by several local television channels in France and was watched by 25 million viewers and about 500 thousand local people as well as foreign tourists. Every year, Indonesians in France promote the nation's cultures to the local people and foreign tourists in various cities in the country.
