Indonesian, Australian Univesities Collaborate On Urban Planning

JAKARTA, May 26 (Antara) - An Indonesian university, Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), and the University of Sydney (USYD) are working together to organize an exhibition on urban planning. The exhibition will be held over the next three weeks from May 22, 2017, at Wilkinson Building, USYD's Faculty of Architecture, Design and Planning. A statement from the Consul of Information, Social and Cultural Affairs, Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Sydney, H. Dimara, received by Antara here on Thursday mentioned that the exhibition is held under the theme "Understanding the Form and Structure of Lebak Village, Siliwangi, Bandung (West Java)." The Consul General of RI in Sydney, Yayan Mulyana, appreciated the collaboration between the two leading universities from Indonesia and Australia and assessed that the cooperation had a very important meaning. "Inter-university cooperation is very important. Therefore, I really appreciate the excellent collaboration between USYD and ITB, including the exhibition that has been opened," the Consul General stated. He also underlined the important contribution of urban planning in tackling settlement issues that occur not only in Indonesia but also in other countries as well. The exhibition displays the results of a recent field visit by a group of USYD School of Architect, Design, and Development Policy students to Bandung, West Java Province.
