Indonesian Minister Conferred UniMAP Honorary Degree

ARAU (Perlis, Malaysia), April 25 (Bernama) -- The Crown Prince of the Malaysian state of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail attended the Doctorate of Letters conferment ceremony by Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) on Indonesia's state-owned enterprises minister, Prof Dr Dahlan Iskandar. The award ceremony was held at Kampus UniMAP, Pauh Putra, near here, Thursday evening. The Crown Prince who is the chancellor of UniMAP was accompanied by Crown Princess of Perlis Tuanku Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil who is the pro-chancellor of UniMAP. Also present was Prof Dr Dahlan's wife, Nafsiah Sabri. Prof Dr Dahlan is the 20th recipient of the award which is the highest honour conferred by UniMAP on individuals who have made outstanding valuable contributions worthy of recognition towards development and dissemination of knowledge as well as to the community and the nation. Prof Dr Dahlan was a former reporter who had served several newspapers and magazines in Indonesia and was responsible for opening the Java Pos News Network which is the largest media network in Indonesia with 207 newspapers, 65 magazines, 42 local TV channels, communication network, paper mills and dozens of administrative offices. -- BERNAMA
