Indonesia's Presidential Election Becomes Trending Topic On Twitter

Jakarta, July 9 (Antara) - Themes related to Indonesia`s presidential election held on Wednesday (July 9) have become trending topics on social media Twitter. According to Antara, six out of 10 themes of worldwide trending topics are about Indonesia`s presidential election. Among the popular themes or hashtags are #Rama2Celup2Jari, #SudahCoblosPeciPrabowo, #VoteJokowiForPresident, #electionday, #7okowiPresident, and #TPS 1. Some voters have even posted the photos of their inked fingers, proof that they have cast their votes, on Twitter. Indonesia is one among the countries with active Twitter users. People have supported either of the two presidential candidates: Prabowo Subianto or Joko Widodo. Indonesia is holding presidential elections on July 9, 2014. The election is contested by the Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa pair and the Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla duo. According to the General Elections Commission (KPU), a total of 190,307,134 voters have been registered (including 2,038,711 overseas voters), with 486,866 polling stations across the archipelago.
